Emirati Word a Day,

or

The gift of an Arabist for the Arabist

14 years ago, when I first faced the fact that I was beginning to study Arabic, I could not have imagined how vast and immense this knowledge was: this language is like a sea, or more like an ocean, or simply a force of nature. Limitless, deep, with no borders in sight.

Having visited 8 countries in the Arab world, I’ve realized how incomprehensible the knowledge of the spoken dialects of the Arabic language is, how lively, subtle, elusive is each “breath” of the language, which varies from country to country, and within each country – from region to region, city to city, village to village…

And, now, having worked with the Arabic language in various fields for more than 12 years, I still love and admire it. Through language, one admires people, culture, countries, every small world.

After all, you learn every day not just for the purpose of learning alone but to transmit this knowledge to like-minded people who are truly interested, and to those who are also burning with enthusiasm for knowledge.

So the word must be protected, valued, passed on and shared.

Today, after speaking with a colleague, an aspiring Arabist, I realized that love for the word needs to be given out.

Since the last five years of my life have been inextricably linked with the UAE, I decided to give out words of Emirati.

Today, I have come up with a new channel for those who want to start learning the Emirati dialect, word by word, hopefully at least one a day.

I invite my fellow admirers to join me: www.telegram.me/emiratiword

Best regards,

Vyacheslav Eliseev

We have given a lot of thought to the question of what gift to present you with for our third anniversary, and have decided to officially introduce a new format for one of our projects!

Welcome to Shop for Arabists!

Here is what’s ahead:

What do you already know?

Here you can purchase keyboard stickers with the Arabic layout in various colors and textures, which are suitable for both Mac and Windows.

We will constantly replenish our selection of magazines in Arabic.

BOOKS! BOOKS! BOOKS!

Art, historical and socio-political publications. Many interesting things await.

Every month, we increase our store’s assortment.

Our new addition this month is a keyboard with an English-Arabic layout and a Bluetooth mouse.

For your convenience, we have chosen an unusual format: a Telegram channel in addition to the site.

Have you picked out something for yourself, are you ready to make a purchase, or do you have any questions?

shop@jobforarabists.ru

P.S.

We are open to cooperation. Write to us via email with the subject line COOPERATION:

shop@jobforarabists.ru

We are glad to welcome you to our channel, which is designed for everyone who works with foreign languages anywhere in the world!

Languages are unique elements – a type of matter that unites civilizations, cultures, people, time, eternity.

We have already learned how to share knowledge of languages.

We want to use this unique channel to teach you how to turn your own passion for languages into your brand, your calling, your business.

This is important: you need to know this and, even more so, try it out.

Welcome to SpeakAr – Whatsapp for Arabists!

The purpose of our chat is to help develop conversational skills for simple, direct and informal communication in Arabic – Fusha and dialects.

Therefore, we kindly ask you to adhere to the following rules for general convenience:

0. We invite you to speak fusha and to use dialects.

This is interesting and educational.

We ask our colleagues who are native speakers of Arabiс and participants in the chat to assist, clarify and explain some examples if some moments are not commonly understood.

1. If you want to share your thoughts with the audience, it is advisable to do so in one message.

An endless stream of short messages makes it easy to lose the thread of a conversation.

2. If you want us to add someone to the group, ask your colleague to send their resume to the email addresses info@jobforarabists.com and mariak@jobforarabists.ru with the subject line CHAT.

In response, we will send a link to join the chat.

3. Voice messages are not allowed and will be deleted by moderators.

4. Photo and video materials categorized as large are not encouraged.

5. Video messages or links to video files that are not related to the chat topic are not allowed.

6. We do NOT talk about the politics of any country in the world, religion, issues related to law enforcement agencies, or other sensitive contemporary topics.

There are many other sites available for discussing such topics, so there is no need for us to address these issues at all.

7. It is forbidden to send requests for help that are related to money and donations.

8. We are not allowed to publish announcements of orders for translation and translation services.

If you have a direct request for translation, apostille, legalization or notarization, please write to us at perevod@bparabist.ru

9. In case of violation of the rules, moderators will send warnings to participants.

If a chat participant continues to intentionally break the rules, the chat administration will have to remove him from the group after two warnings.

Let’s keep the group tidy and ‘spam-free’, and also maintain general order for the convenience of discussing various topics (except for the list of topics mentioned above)

Let the chat be useful and interesting.
